The laboratory of Gwyneth Card at the Zuckerman Institute has an open position for a highly motivated Research Staff Assistant to work in a cutting-edge neuroscience laboratory. Working alongside postdoctoral researchers and reporting directly to the Principal Investigator (PI), the laboratory studies Drosophila escape behavior in ecologically relevant situations. We seek a highly motivated, skilled, and dynamic individual who is enthusiastic about a career in science. This is a grant-funded, full-time position.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Performing daily robot or manual fly-flipping runs.

Check for sick fly stocks and perform hand fly flipping until stock is healthy.

Manage online fly stock databases, including entering new fly entries.

Train on neural Drosophila dissections for Split-Gal4 imaging pipeline.

Assist with administrative and documentation tasks that relate to the lab.

Help with general lab maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, or other related area of science is required.

A minimum of 2 years of related experience in a research environment is required.
