Kia Nobre is a cognitive neuroscientist interested in understanding how neural systems support cognitive functions in the human brain. Her current research investigates how neural activity linked to perception and cognition is dynamically modulated according to memories, task goals, and expectations. Kia is based at the University of Oxford, where she holds the Chair in Translational Cognitive Neuroscience, directs the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity, and heads the Department of Experimental Psychology.

This seminar is part of the Systems, Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience Seminar Series at Columbia's Zuckerman Institute, which focuses on cognition and decision making research. Internationally renowned speakers present their recent work on these topics using behavioral, neurobiological and computational approaches. Seminars take place approximately every other week on Tuesdays at 4 pm in the Jerome L. Greene Science Center (9th floor).
