An intimate evening of live jazz and neuroscientific discovery.

How does a small change in underlying instructions transform the big picture?

Join us for Music on the Brain, an informal dialogue and live performance featuring pianist and vocalist Kelly Green alongside neuroscientist Panagiota (Julie) Apostolou (Zuckerman Institute).

Through live music and conversation, we will explore the concept of "variation on a theme"—comparing how subtle genetic shifts alter neural wiring in schizophrenia to how jazz musicians transform shared musical structures. Together, Kelly and Julie will examine the thin line between altered perception and artistic output, reflecting on iconic figures like Bud Powell to discuss creativity, mental disorders, and the human experience.
