Columbia University’s Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of a Research Staff Assistant. The position is in a neuroscience laboratory performing state-of-the-art research linking neural circuits to function, including studies of learning, sensory processing, and motor behavior in electric fish and mice.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Animal colony management.

Assist PI and senior researchers with ongoing research projects by performing histology, microscopy, behavioral studies, and stereotaxic surgeries in mice.

Perform General Lab duties such as making reagents and solutions.

Supporting purchases of lab equipment and supplies, sustaining lab inventories, and ensuring timely maintenance of lab equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a science-related Bachelor’s degree. Two (2) years of previous experience in a related field.
