Lab Coordinator- Shohamy Lab

The laboratory of Dr. Daphna Shohamy at the Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute is seeking a Lab Coordinator. Reporting to the principal investigator, the incumbent provides administrative assistance with research investigating the brain mechanisms of emotion, social cognition, and cognitive control.



Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 

Lab Management

  • Safeguards proper compliance with safety procedures.

  • Oversees general laboratory operations and manage all activities related to proper use, availability, performance, maintenance, and availability of facilities, equipment, and supplies.

  • Oversees the recruitment of participants for the research studies. 

  • Assists in the preparation of reports and proposals and with correspondence, data entry, and library research.

 

Budget Development/Administration

  • Participates in development and administration of annual and grant budgets; processes and monitors expenditures, reconciles budget reports, and forecasts projects budget discrepancies. 

  • Oversees all purchases for the lab and compliance with any contractual obligations and manages/tracks reimbursements. 

  • Supports and monitors research related activities to ensure compliance with University and funding agency regulations.

  • Maintains accurate and complete records to meet fiduciary responsibility and comply with audit requirements. Performs additional duties, and special projects as required. ​​​​​

 

Office Management

  • Responsible for office operations meetings; oversees group communications. Coordinates travel arrangements for staff and guests with a high level of attention to detail and flexibility. 

  • Serves as single point of contact for visitors and sales representatives. 

  • Organizes and manages print and digital records, correspondence, and other files in the lab (equipment manuals, lab notebooks, etc.) 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent experience required. 

  • Up to 2 years of related experience. Must be highly proficient with computer applications. Prior experience with financial management is a must.
